MG TF 1250 (1954)

This fine car was originally exported to the US in 1954, as were so many MG’s in those days.

Repatriated from Miami in 2014 the car was subjected to an in depth body-off restoration by a motor engineer of vast experience and repute.

Restoration included a fully rebuilt engine, gearbox, rear axle, new body timbers, new wings, running boards, new suspension front and rear, new (not recon) SU carbs, new fuel tank, new trim, hood, part and full tonneau by Pickerings of Bradford (surely the best!). Complete new brake system, new radiator, stainless exhaust, lights and wiring looms.

Many fastenings on the car are stainless steel, yet further confirmation of the standard set throughout.

The end result is a car of stunning appearance that drives as well as it looks.

The TF was much derided by MG purists at the time of its launch as simply as a ‘tarted up TD’ to which it is mechanically identical. The subtle differences in body profile, seating etc however tell a different story.

This TF is a delight to drive as the last of the ‘Square Riggers’ and is now the most sought after of all ‘T’ series MG’s, benefiting as it does (like the TD) with the Issigonis inspired independent front suspension and rack and pinion strut.

The car is ready to go. Just fully serviced and although MOT and tax exempt is offered with a a new MOT as an external and independent validation of its integrity and quality.

Buy now and enjoy.
